For over two decades, I’ve worked in the niche of forests, fires, and post-fire recovery efforts. I led the development of some of the first Community Wildfire Protection Plans in Colorado, as well as programs to mitigate fuels before fires, and directing post-fire recovery on numerous large fires across Colorado. I received a National Fire Plan Award from the Secretaries of Agriculture and Interior for my work, as well as numerous other awards and recognition for my work.
Sara Mayben
I’ve worked in Natural Resources Management for over 30 years, half of which was as a line officer for the Forest Service in Colorado and Montana. During my tenure, I’ve served as an agency administrator during wildfires, working in partnership with other governmental entities and utilities assessing risk to key public infrastructure. I have also worked in partnership with the same entities during post wildfire recovery. Strategic Risk Assessment planning for wildfires prior to ignition is key to success is managing values at risk, including critical infrastructure and helps wildfire management agencies understand your protection priorities prior to, during and post wildfire.
